Something exciting took off in Brussels — the first-ever joint drone assembly and team-building event by Wings for Europe volunteers! Participants gathered from Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, France and Ukraine. Some 20 drones were assembled during the event.
But this event wasn’t just about assembling and soldering drone parts — it was packed with energy, teamwork, simulator piloting and live test flights. An experienced drone operator straight from the front-lines in Ukraine shared his insights, advice and firsthand stories.
During breaks, volunteers didn’t just chat over coffee — they savored authentic Ukrainian food and snacks kindly prepared by a Ukrainian chef from a restaurant in Luxembourg. Someone even brought a birthday cake to surprise and celebrate volunteer Asta.
Training materials and expert knowledge provided by Ukrainian partners are now turning into hands-on experience that helps save many lives.
“Our goal is bigger than building drones. We’re building a community of Europeans ready to stand up for freedom,” said volunteer Lauri.
